The Travertine Court

The car port shares its bronze fascia and column detail with the entrance canopy, tying the two elements together. Reflection pools border the raised stepping stones on both sides, cooling the arrival sequence. Low olive trees and drought-tolerant planting line the walk. A parked vehicle sits under the car port on the right, giving a sense of the villa's scale.

Twin date palms rise from the courtyard floor on either side, framing the view to the rear glazing. The travertine cladding shows its horizontal banding clearly at this angle. The steppingstones are cut in the same stone as the walls, so the path reads as an extension of the building. A glazed pavilion at the far end links the two wings and opens to the rear garden.

Tall bronze-framed glazing runs the full height of both store's, retracting completely at ground level for indoor-outdoor living. A deep upper terrace with planted balustrades sits above the ground-floor overhang. The internal spiral staircase and lighting are visible through the glazing at dusk. The stone water wall on the right closes the composition and screens the neighboring plot.

The pool is cut cleanly into the terrace with an infinity edge on the water-wall side. A dry-stacked stone wall at the far end holds a linear waterfall that spills into the pool. The terrace steps down from a covered lounge, with a corner sectional sofa and a dining table under the upper cantilever. Loungers half-submerged in a shallow shelf on the left offer seating in the water.

Two long rectangular pools sit either side of the path, with the stones cantilevered slightly over the water. A single boulder is set into the pool on the left as a sculptural accent. The car port sits parallel to the path on the right, in line with the entrance canopy. Curved travertine walls wrap the courtyard and enclose the entry sequence.

Vertical bronze fins on either side of the door filter light into the entrance without opening the interior to the driveway. The pivot door is finished in a deep vertical-grain walnut. The stepping-stone path lines up with the door and reads as a bridge across the water. The bronze canopy sits low enough to give the entrance a human scale against the tall stone wing

The door is set well back under the bronze canopy, framed on both sides by tall bronze fins over glass. Cream ceramic planters with olive trees stand on either side, marking the threshold. The stepping stones step up to the door in shallow risers. From this angle, the sightline runs straight through the villa to the palms and sea view at the rear.
