The Water Court Villa

The frontage stays low and closed, with a single opening under the roof that frames a view through to the garden. A breeze-block screen, desert planting and boulders soften the long stone walls along the driveway.

Water steps down across stone ledges toward a sunken seating area at the lawn’s edge. Stone piers, vertical timber screens and full-height glazing frame the living spaces behind the terrace.

Each pool spills over a marble edge into the one below, filling the court with sound and reflected light. Wide stone steps lead up to a glazed pivot door set in a stone frame, with the garden visible beyond.

Ground-recessed lights wash the rounded volumes and bring out the grain of the stone cladding. Full-height glazing under the canopy shows the warmly lit entrance hall from the street.

The timber soffit is lit with recessed downlights, connecting the indoor living areas to the pool terrace. Lit steps, a timber lattice screen and garden lighting define the outdoor spaces after dark

Floating stone steps cross between cascading pools, with sculptural ceramic vessels set along the path. A stone-clad wall and an olive tree line one side, while cantilevered floors extend over the other.

The paved forecourt leads past two cylindrical volumes toward a glazed entrance with views through the house. A slatted screen and desert planting complete the facade on the garden wall side.
